"Every individual matters. Every individual has a role to play. Every individual makes a difference."

"We have the choice to use the gift of our life to make the world a better place--or not to bother."
Last night I was lucky enough to hear the wonderful Jane Goodall speak at Sydney Town Hall. Jane's dedication to both animal and community based conservation is impressive. In her talk Jane made many important points about each person's responsibility to be globally minded and to make choices in our everyday life that don't risk our planets future. She also spoke about her mother and the positive influence and fearless spirit she instilled in her. It reminded me of my own mother and the support she has always given me.
Jane herself is amazingly focussed, calm, compassionate, truthful and aware. She is a true champion of humanity. Her organisation has developed many programs to benefit both animals and humans alike. I have never had a specific person I would ever say I really aspired to be like. Until now. I think people sometimes fear the people who make them see the flaws in themselves. I don't. I embrace them because it is only when you can see and accept your flaws that you can be truly motivated to fix them.

"Change happens by listening and then starting a dialogue with the people who are doing something you don't believe is right."
