colour run...

I finally got my analogue photos from the MS Colour Run. I'm pretty happy with them especially since they were taken with a disposable camera wrapped in glad wrap! Our coloured clothes and shoes are still sitting in plastic bags in my laundry :) Thanks to all those who donated- you are superstars! x

zombie love...

I am currently appearing in the play 'Zombie Love' as part of the Short+Sweet festival. I play Emily, a girl who has finally found love with the one man her best friend Kathy can't steal. The problem is Walter is a zombie and Kathy will stop at nothing to break them up.

Our photo call-

Our leading man, Karol Binkowski, was recently featured in the North Shore Times. You can read the article here.

I am really enjoying being a part of something so well written (by Earl T. Roske) and brilliantly directed by Mark Fowler. I owe a great debt and special thanks to my fellow cast mates Karol and Luna Jace who could not be more supportive or amazing both as actors and human beings. We play at the King Street Theatre until Jan 27 so come along!

recap 2012...

2012 wasn't a great year. I was sick a lot. I made some insane choices and had to drop out of a course I should have never enrolled in. Hubs had to travel a lot and I was really lonely. The 'drank a whole bottle of red wine while watching Fried Green Tomatoes on TV' kind of lonely (not recommended). My brother moved so I saw him a lot less. My father in law was diagnosed with cancer and my hub's Nanna, who I've loved and cherished for 15 years, passed away. Not a lot of stellar moments. However I did manage to distract myself with impromptu trips (hello Amsterdam, howdy Melbourne) and getting cast in a play. I had one story published but I could wallpaper a room with rejection letters (or emails). I've kept my volunteer role at Food Water Shelter but can't even remember the last time I got paid for any work I have done. So I guess you would expect some long life altering list of resolutions but no.

My goals for 2013 are:

1. Read more books
2. Cook more
3. Get more organised
4. Be happy :)

Have a good 2013. I wish you all the best. x

yesterday or never...

The trees and the flowers have been strewing their cool doors.
I walk among them, but none of them are noticing.
Sometimes I think that when I am sleeping
I must most perfectly resemble them--
Thoughts gone dim.
It is more natural to me, lying down.
Then the sky and I are in open conversation,
And I shall be useful when I lie down finally:
Then the trees may touch me for once, and the flowers have time for me.

escape...

Between Christmas and New Year we headed to Leura to escape. It was so good to be in the Blue Mountains again. I had forgotten how much I missed it. The mountains were surprisingly busy for this time of year and the only place available to stay was a beautiful French provincial style 5 bedroom house. I took some interior shots just because it was so thoughtfully decorated. It was a little large for us obviously but also loads of fun and our dog loved racing around the 1/2 acre back garden. The house had a gas fire, pool table and enormous chef style 6 burner double stove where I cooked risotto and our breakfast each morning. We were pretty spoiled with a coffee machine and I liked having a TV in the bedroom. It was so nice to snuggle under the covers and fall asleep to some silly movie- in this case The Witches of Eastwick and Groundhog Day on two separate occasions. It was a great mini break and my only wish is that we could have stayed a bit longer. We are looking forward to heading back again in July when it will be colder with even more excuse to snuggle up together.
